For a few more hours you can buy the jewels of Elon Musk’s family at auction (and also some photos)

The auction house RR has opened bids for a jewel made with a stone from the mines managed by the father of the founder of Tesla.

A gold necklace with a pendant made of emerald at the bottom. A price that currently reaches $ 8,784 and above all a story that reveals new details on the richest man in the world. Until 2 am (Italian time) on the night between 14 and 15 September the RR auction house accepts offers for a jewel given by Elon Musk to Jennifer Gwynne, a woman with whom the founder of Tesla it was released between 1994 and 1995. In addition to the necklace in the lot there are also two vintage photos of the billionaire: a photo of the two posed boyfriends and one taken in an elegant evening with other friends.

The two dated in the United States when they were both attending the University of Pennsylvania. Now Gwynne has said that she is selling everything in order to finance college to her son, who is currently 13. Behind the necklace, however, there is another story. According to Gwynne, in fact, it would not be a simple jewel but would come from the private collection of Musk’s family.

The emerald mines of the Musk family

The gold-embraced emerald that forms the necklace pendant would come from one of the emerald mines that were run by Musk’s father. This background in recent months has also been confirmed by Business Insider. The only part of the story that doesn’t add up is that according to Gwynne the emerald came from a mine in South Africa while it seems that the mine managed by his father was located in Zambia.

The photos of the young Musk

Along with the lot with the column, the billionaire’s ex-girlfriend also auctioned other items. Also on the RR archive you can find about 20 photos of Musk, all taken in the 90s. The subject is always the same but the poses vary: there is Musk turned upside down, Musk on a sofa surrounded by bottles of alcohol, Musk on a bench with Gwynne and Musk in front of a pc. There is also a greeting card written by Musk: “Happy Birthday Jennifer (aka Boo-Boo). Love Elon “.
